ACORx Pharmacy Directors
Shawn Nairn RPh, Owner
Shawn is a pharmacist and owner of ACORx Pharmacy with over 30 years of experience. He graduated from Duquesne University School of Pharmacy and has a diverse background in chain pharmacy, independent ownership, long-term care, and medication adherence packaging. Shawn founded ACORx with a focus on concierge pharmacy and patient-centered care. ACORx has been recognized as one of Pittsburgh’s fastest-growing companies in 2016 and 2020. Shawn is active in the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association, serves as a Regional Board Member with Value Drug, and received the George S. Maggio Award in 2018 for his contributions to pharmacy advocacy. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf.
Amy Karlek, PharmD
Amy is the Operations Director here at ACORx Pharmacy. She has been with ACORx since we opened in 2016. Amy graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Prior to working at ACORx, Amy has experience in both long term care and community pharmacy settings, with a focus on psychiatric care. Amy serves as a student preceptor for both The University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University Schools of Pharmacy. In her spare time, Amy loves to play golf, go hiking and travel to new destinations!
Sarah Hoover, PharmD, BCGP
Sarah is the Clinical Director at ACORx Pharmacy. She has been working with ACORx since 2018. Sarah graduated from Duquesne University School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Sarah also became a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist in 2016. She also serves as a luminary for The Pennsylvania Pharmacists Care Network, as well as coach for the Flip The Pharmacy initiative. Sarah has always worked in the independent community pharmacy setting, even as a student. She serves alongside Amy as a student preceptor for both The University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University Schools of Pharmacy. Outside of work, you can find Sarah spending her time fishing!
